The Bureau of Early Intervention Services and Family Supports is pleased to announce the following training opportunity:

Best Practices in Assessing Functional Skills in Young Children

Dates and Times:
- October 16, 2026; 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
- November 9, 2026; 9:00 am - 11:30 am (repeat of October 16 webinar)

This interactive webinar explores why it is important to assess a child’s functional skills during the evaluation process, how to gather information on a child’s functional skills, and how to integrate functional data to inform next steps. Participants will learn how to differentiate between standardized and functional data and gather information during a child’s everyday routines and activities. The session also highlights how to integrate the information gathered into high-quality documentation. Participants will leave the webinar knowing how to synthesize and document functional assessment data into meaningful summaries and recommendations within evaluation reports.
