ELEMENTS: Strategies for Families and Professionals to Support Young Children with Autism

This presentation introduces ELEMENTS, a practical approach for supporting young children with autism within everyday routines and interactions. The session provides an overview of developmental differences in early childhood and highlights how research from early intervention, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions (NDBIs) informs the approach. Participants will learn about the five core components of ELEMENTS and how these strategies support caregiver–child engagement, child-led learning, and communication through natural, evidence-based practices such as Reciprocal Imitation Training (RIT).
