EITA Training Announcement - Minding the Gap
The Bureau of Early Intervention Services and Family Supports is pleased to announce the following training opportunity:
Minding the Gap: Using Your Expertise to Meet the Individual Needs of Each Caregiver
Dates and Times:
- August 18, 2026; 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
- September 18, 2026; 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
This training examines how Early Interventionists can use observation, reflection, and professional expertise to meet caregivers at their current point in the learning process and tailor support to their individual needs. The session introduces the different types of learning gaps that may influence caregiver participation and explores how to match support strategies to each caregiver’s readiness and context. Participants will learn how observation strengthens coaching, how to differentiate among various learning gaps, and how reflective conversations can guide individualized, responsive supports. Through practical examples, providers will enhance their ability to partner effectively with caregivers in meaningful, impactful ways.
